GIRL-SHY

BRADMAN BLUSHES AT FLAPPER’S SMILES.

BREAKFAST COMEDY.

England is acclaiming Don Bradman as “the lion tamer,’’ but Australia's dashing young batsman is somewhat faint-hearted when the flappers ana about, says the Sydney “Guardian’s” representative with the Australian XI.

At the breakfast table recently, Don was placed in a very awkward position.

A charming young girl, who knew he was the young hero who belted England's bowling all over Lord’s ground fixed her eyes on him and smiled as his eyes set upon her. Don blushed. Victor Richardson did his best to relieve the situation, but Don just kept on blushing and was afraid to look up again. So the only view he had during the meal time was of his plate. It had a big helping of bacon and eggs on it when he started, but there was little left when he finished. All the flappers adore Don, and his team mates are kept busy saving him from signing autograph books.
