ESTATE OF LATE THOS, HARPER MEETING OF CREDITORS. (Special Representative.) A meeting of creditors in the estate of the late Mr Thus. Harper was held at the Courthouse, Waipu Irurau, yesterday, the Official Assignee (Mr G. G. Chisholm) presiding. Mr A. M. White, solicitor, 1V aipukurau, represented several creditors, and there were also present Messrs T. Staines and J. E. Reid. The assets were shown as; Cash in bank £3O 7s 2d, furniture £ll9 ss, motor-car £3O, land at Waipukurau (Government valuation) £2501, land at Pohinga (Government valuation) £13,105, debt due by Harper Bros. £53 3s 3d. Total assets £15,838 15s sd. The liabilities were shown as: Unsecured debts £990 Us 4d, mortgages on Waipukurau property £2163 ■is lOd, mortgages on Pohinga property £9753 3s, making a total of £12,907 Os 2d; leaving an apparent surplus of £2931 15s 3d. Some time was spent in discussing the estate and in an endeavour to wind up the affairs to the best advanto all concerned. Finally it wa»> agreed to adjourn the meeting sine die to enable steps to be taken to dispose of certain sections in Waipukurau. It was considered that it the sections were sold to advantage there was every prospect of ordinary unsecured creditors being paid in full.
