DISTRICT NURSING
HASTINGS ASSOCIATION. REPORT OF MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Hastings District Nursing Association was held on Monday, Mrs G. A. Maddison presiding. Also present: Mesdames R. Paynter, Chapman, Wilson, Nairn, Glenny, Beach, Speight, Banks, Sa.tchell, Deaconess Holmes, Miss Ford, and Mrs Pickering (hon. secretary). Apologies were received from Mrs Jones, Mrs Boshier, Mr. McKee and Mr. Donovan. The president extended a welcome to Mrs Glenny, who had been absent for some months on holiday. The nurse’s report read as follows: Treatments at homes 103, treatments at office 174, miscellaneous calls 7. Nurse C'assin had been absent on sick leave during the month, and has now resumed duty. Nurse Somervell, who was acting district nurse, was duly thanked and the committee’s appreciation of her services recorded.
Mrs R. Paynter, convenor of the relief committee, reported that the response to Mrs G. A. Maddison’s appeal for clothing had exceeded expectations. Numerous parcels of warm clothing had been sent in. The committee desire to thank the citizens for their unfailing assistance and practical support of the relief work. A case of jam from the Women’s Institute was acknowledged with thanks. Mrs Maddison and Mrs Nairn were appointed visiting committee for the ensuing month, and Mrs J. Wilson and Mrs Boshier investigating committee. FINANCE STATEMENT. The treasurer (Mr. W. B. Hobbs) submitted the finance statement. Donations had been received from Mrs M. Hay and E. A. Westerman. Mr. T. Donovan, who has been appointed to collect subscriptions on behalf of the association, reported that he had been successful in collecting the sum of £5O 8/-. The president, in speaking to the report, stated that Mr. Donovan had rendered the association yeoman service. The committee thanks the following subscribers for donations :—J. Chambers, A.
