(Received 11, 1.40 p.m.) Delhi, March 12. Gandhi, heading <BO volunteers, left Ahmedabad this morning on his march to the coast to offer civil disobedience to the salt laws. Thousand* of Hindus waited near Gandhi’s settlement all night in expectation of his arrest. The campaigner* left soon after dawn unhindered by police, who merely maintairied order and controlled traffic. No incident* occurred.
It is significant that no Moslem* were present at the demonstration. Gansdhyamadan Bipa, a wealthy Calcutta merchant, has donated £45,000 to the fundi of the disobedient movement
