GALAXY OF CHAMPIONS IN HASTINGS ON SHOW NIGHT Rarely have the public of Hawke’s Buy had the opportunity of seeing such a gathering of amateur at luetic champions as will be offered by the Hastings Club next Wednesday evening. lor quality it will be equal to any presented in the Dominion.

The star attraction will be the appearance of G. Golding, the Australian quarter-mile champion, who caused a recent sensation in Sydney by defeating Dr, Otto Peltzer, the German middle distance runner. Golding has been touring the Dominion for some time now and has met with outstanding success.

In the cycling department the attraction will be F. Grose, of Christchurch, who twelve ’months ago captured the three cycling events here. He is reported to be in great form. Two prominent ladies will also take part in the meeting. Miss E. Martyn, of Christchurch, the New Zealand lady champion sprinter, will be opposed by Miss Norma Wilson, exOlympic Games representative and holder of the Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay championship. The usual club trophies will be at stake. This will be the final meeting of the season and on the results of the evening rest the ultimate honours for the trophies.
