WEDDING

FBLTCHLEY—RABTUIDGE

A quiet wedding was celebrated in St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings, last evening, the contracting parties being Alias .lima I'artndgu, of Wolverhampton, England, and Mr, John James Fritchley, of Hastings. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Mortimer Jones.

The bride, who was given away by Air. J. W. Charlea, wore a charming model frock of parchment erepe-de-chcue, with the bodice beautiiully embroidered ami finished at one hip with a bow. The cluster of orange blossom on the shoulder was lent by Mrs. T. Rouse, of Napier. A model hat was worn, cut away in front, and finished with a buckle of blue diamente.

The bride’s bouquet was of roses and carnations in tones of white shading to mauve, with maiden hair fern and gypsophila. Mrs. J. Charles, of Hastings was matron of honour and wore an effective frock of navy Celanese daintily embroidered in red and gold and finished with a string of scarlet beads. Her chic red hat to tone was cut away in front. Rhe carried a bouquet of red roses and carnations with gypsopiiiia and maiden-hair fern. The bouquets of both the bride and matron of honour were the work of Aliss E. Henry.

The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Roy Hawkins. Later, Mrs. J. Charles entertained the wedding guests, about 30 in number, at her home in Methuen street, where the floral decorations were carried out with gay asters. The prettily decorated table was graced by the throe-tiered wedding cake, Diautifuily iced, and ornamented with favours.

The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a set of lovely fox furs, and her present to the bridegroom was a wristlet watch. The matron of honour received a dainty set of Xylonite ware.

The guests included:— Mrs. G. D. Love, who wore black satin with a vest of guipure lace, and finished at the hip with a large low. Mrs. J. Hawkins, navy blue crepe-de-chene finished at shoulder with pretty flower posy. Airs. T. Rouse (Napier) beige georgette frock and fox furs.

Mrs. V. Bouse (Napier) biskru crepe-de-chene, with bodice effectively pin-tucked. Mrs. J. Shearer (Napier) figured ninon in rose shades.

Airs. H. Barden, patterned green chiffon.

Mrs. F. Furnace, vieux rose charmeuse.

Mrs. H. Morley, paon satin la tosca. Mrs. R. Cameron, figured chenille frock.

Miss G. Love, model frock of absinthe green panne velvet beautifully embroidered on shoulder and hips. Aliss Al. Giles, vieux rose taffetas with inset panel of gold lace. Miss H. Al. Love, beech satin beaute embroidered in apricot chenille.

Aliss M. Love, Naples blue taffetas. Miss H. Henry, hollyhock pink georgette. Miss H. Cain, dove grey rrepe shasta.
