WAIPUKURAU STOCK SALE BROKERS’~REPORTS The stockbrokers report having held their weekly sale at Waipukurau yesterday, when there was a small yarding of cattle and a fairly small one of sheep. Cattle realised prices at recent rates, there being one good lino of f. and f. 3J-year Hereford steers which were passed at £l2. The yarding of sheep, although big, was not of good quality, and together with lack of demand prices showed a distinct decline. Following is a range' of prices:—Fat ewes 16/9, fat S.D. cross m.s. 4-tooths 22/-, 5-year ewes trom' 8/- to 15/-, do s.m. 19/- to 19/1, small 4-year ewes 16/6, medium woolly wether lambs were passed at 12/6, good line of late shorn 4-tooth wethers 22/-, 2-tooth wethers up to 23/6, 4 and 6-tooth ewes from 18/- to 21/-. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT The Department of Agriculture hat received the following cablegram, dated Bth inst., from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, "London: Tallow.—Moderate demand at auction this week at prices 1/- to 1/6 below previous sale rates. 627 pack ages offered, 332 sold.
