PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY
TO-DAY'S OISCUMIONS. [Per Press Association.! Dunedin, March 12. At the Prebyterian Assembly this morniug an overture was presented by the Hawke’s Bay Presbytery, requesting that, at the ordination of elders, subscription to the Westminster confession of faith be not required. It was agreed to remit th* question to Presbyteries for consideration and report to the next Assembly. The Standing Committee for th* year was appointed, with the following changes —Budget Committee to be located at Christchurch; Home Mission Committee shifted from Auckland to Wellington; Social Service Committee removed from Wellington to Auckland The McGlashan Fund for Indigent Gentlewomen is to Im administered by a committee to be located in Wellington. A discussion took place on the question of Church union, which eame up by an overture from the Wellington Presbytery, and resulted in the Wellington Presbytery being appointed a committee on Church union to ascertain the mind of th* Church and report to the next Assembly; and. further, that it be recommended to the Youth, Home and Theologic d Committees to approach their corresponding committees in sister Churches with a view to cooperation.
