KARAMU LODGE NO. 47. The seventh annual picnic of the above lodge was held at the week-end at Dartmoor, a large crowd attending. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were provided with plenty of amusement. The following is the list of adult prize-winners: Kahuranaki Rebekah members. Sister J. Bullot 1, Sister E. Bennett 2; Karamu Oddfellows: Bro. F. Gardiner 1, Bro. J. Gillies 2; single ladies Miss Henderson 1, Miss Henry 2; married ladies, Mrs Simondson 1, Mrs Breuer 2; single men, L. Taylor I, F. Laredo 2; married men, Mr Simondson 1. Hro. J. Gillies 2; nail-driving for ladies. Mrs Martin; chain-stepping for ladies, Mrs Ashford : cigarette race, Mr. O. Jonson and Miss Martin. Swimming races: Boys, J. Plowman 1; girls, D. Martin 1. Altogether a most enjoyable time was spent, and a profitable one for those who filled their baskets with blackberries.
