MR. CHURCHILL’S SUPPORT

OF THE BALDWIN PROPOSALS.

LETTER TO CONSTITUENTS.

(United Pre. Association—By Cable— Copyright.!

(Received 7, 10.45 a.m.) London, March 6.

The Rt. Hon. Winston Churchill has sent a letter to his constituents as follows: “I always opposed protective taxation on food for the purpose of uniting the Empire because, if it were imposed, a single party would be liable for violent reversals most dangerous to Imperial concord, and the unity of the Empire would be brought info tho whirlpool of party politics instead of being lifted above our domestic quarrels. Rut the Rt. Hon. Stanley Baldwin’s course commands my earnest support. It is the only way of effectively advancing Empire economic or fiscal unity.”
