NAPIER SOCIETY’S MEETINC.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The Napier Horticultural Society held its annual meeting last evening, Mr. John Mason presiding over a very fair attendance of members. In proposing the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, already published, Mr. Mason stated that the report showed that the work of the society during the past year had from a financial point of view been entirely satisfactory. The large number of new meifabcrs indicated that the society was progressing. For the balance-sheet to show an excess of assets over liabilities of £136 was most satisfactory, and the credit for such a position must fall on the shoulders of the executive, of which Mr. Rowe was chairman, and their real good secretary, Mr. Merritt. Mr. C Corner complimented the society on its progress, and expressed the hope that they would all pull together for the sake of horticulture. Mr. Mason’s motion was then carried unanimously.
