SENTENCES AT WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association.] Wellington, March 6. Harry Coronno, Cedric Maitland Gay, and Ernest Charles Smith, three young men who had admitted two charges of breaking, entering and theft, all of whom had been previously convicted, were sentenced to three years’ Borstal detention by Mr. Justice Blair. Albert John Higgs, on a similar charge, was sentenced to two years’ Borstal detention.

Ernest Reginald Dott. alias McTarrish, on a charge of theft and breaking, entering ahd theft, received eighteen months’ hard labour His Honour remarked that Dott had been in New Zealand for some months and his conduct would lead one to believe that he left some other country for a very good reason. Dott robbed a constable who befriended him. Robert Irvine Owens, on three charges of breaking, entering and theft, and breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime, received three years’ harrl labour.

Raymond Dundas Gordon, aged 22. who. His Honour remarked, seemed to have embarked on a life a crime, received three years’ hard labour for breaking, entering and theft On a similar charge and a charge of breaking and entering with intent tn commit a crime. Alfred Joseph Osborne got three months’ imprisonment.
