Marton, March 5. Glorious weatfier favoured tho opening day of the Rangitikei Racing Club’s annual meeting to-day, and there was a large attendance. The track was hard. The tote handled £13,147,' against £13,521 on the first day last year, a decrease of £375 Late results:—

Won by a neck, third two lengths back. Timo, 1.29 3-5. Scott Memorial, 6 furlongs.—3 Mr. G. Johnstons Dobbin, 7.5) (H. Wiggins) 1; fl Broadaore 2, 1 Aoora 3. Also ran: 2 Raider, 4 Freehold, 5 Teatiawa. Won by a length, third two lengths away. Freehold was fourth. ■ Time, 1.14 1-5. Putenui Hack Handicap, 8} furlongs.—4 Mr B. T. Clifton Highweight, 7 furlongs.— 2 Messrs. Arnold Bros. Manly, 8.5 (11. Gray) 1; 1 Callanmore 2, 3 High Falulhi 3. Also ran: 4 Avro, 5 Captain Gazeley. Won by half a head, third a length back. Time, 1.28 3-5. Carnarvon Hack, 6 furlongs.—2 Mr. S. J Gibbon’s Equitant, 8.0 (J. Burry) 1; 1 Tenacre 2, 4 Arrow Boy 3. Also ran: 3 Kentish Lad, 5 Good Acre 7.0, 6 Adventus. Won by three lengths, third a length away. Time. 1.14 3-5.
