ABOARD THE NARKUNDA.

(United Press Association—By Cable— Copyright.! (Received 6, 8.60 a.m.) Sydney, Feb. 6. Advice received from the Narkunda. en route, to Fremantle, states that the smallpox patient was a second class, male passenger who. presumably, contracted the disease at Bombay, where it was raging.

PATIENT’S SERIOUS CONDITION

(United Press Association—By CableCopyright.l (Received 6, 10.55 a.m.) Colombo, March b. Swann, the second saloon passenger who contracted smallpox, was, on the arrival of the Narkunda,' in a verv serious condition. There is little hope of his recovery. The vessel, before leaving for Australia, was placed in strict quarantine. The passengers were vaccinated and the ship disinfected.
