GALA NIGHT DANCE
The gala night dance was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall last Wednesday night and proved a great success. The committee members were Misses Henderson, Symes. Smith and Messrs Jonson, McKenzie and Marquett. Phil Blakley’s orchestra supplied the music and a dainty supper was served by the committee. Features of the evening were the spot-light dances and the Monte Carlo waltzes. The winners of the latter were Mr. G. Murray and partner. Messrs. Jonson and McKenzie made capable M.C.’s. The decorations of the hall were carried out with streamers and coloured lights. Those present included:— Miss G. Tayler, in blue crepe-de-chine with silver lace. Miss R. Symes, in white silk. Miss V. Duff, in fawn lace. Miss V. Milden, in black crepe-de-chine with bands of velvet on the skirt. Miss J. Scott, black crepe-de-chine with a floral skirt. Miss C. Brown, green crepe-de-chine with double knife-plea'ted skirt relieved with fawn. Miss M. Smith, scarlet crepe-de-chine falling long at the sides, with silver lace. Mrs. J. Hawkes, pink crepe-de-chine, with skirt of silver lace. Miss M. Brown, black charmeuse, yrilow bow at side. Miss McLeod, black crepe-de-chine. Miss A. Hood, salmon pink taffetas. Miss Orchards, scarlet velvet. Her sister wore green velvet. Miss Hannah, cream lace. Miss Ward, scarlet crepe-de-chine. Miss Henderson, green crepe-de-chine. Miss Lansdown, salmon pink crepe-de-chine. with silver lace. Miss R. Lansbury, green taffetas.
