A CHRISTMAS STORY
Dear Chief Kiwi, —Christmas is a time we should all feel very merry as it. is Christ’s Birthday. We like to give presents because Christ got presents when ho was born. There was a little girl once said to her mother she would like to give Christ a present, but her mother said being kind to other boys and girls is just the same as giving it to Christ. We all feel so happy at Christmas, and are always anxious to see what Santa Claus fetches for us. That makes me think of the song of Santa Claus. A wee boy said to his mother, “Why don’t Santa Claus bring some thing to mo! Why don’t ho never, never, call? Other boys and girls get plenty of toys, but I got nothing at all. I must have been a very bad boy not to get any toys.” But, Dear Chief Kiwi, don’t you think it must have been very disappointing for that poor boy on Chnstmas morning! I would like to be able to share my toys with him, it seems such a very sad song, and I like to see other boys and giris happy. Seven marks to Malcolmn McKenzie, ago 11 years, P.O. Otane.
