HAVELOCK NORTH
SWIMMING CARNIVAL. A special swimming carnival was held in the Havelock North Baths last evening and despite the unfavourable weather there was a good attendance of enthusiastic supporters. During the evening Mr. E. F. Leicester announced that an inter-club carnival between Hastings, Mahora and Havelock North would be held in the local baths next Wedn’esday for the shield presented by Mr. Rainbow and he hoped thau ths public would show their interest by being present in large numbers. Following were the results:— Boys’ 25 yards.—A. Duncan 1. F. Russell and C. Eves (dead heat) 2. Girls’ 25 yards.—T. Eves 1, L. Thomson 2. Boys’ intermediate. 50 yards.— First heat: G. Christie 1, GrudnofT 2, C. Eves 3. Second heat; Drayson 1, H Christie 2. F. Russell 3. Final: G. Christie 1, H. Christie 2. Ladies’ op yards.—Miss E. Eves and C Atkins (dead heat) 1, Boys’ diving.—C. Eves 1. Drayson Egg-and-spoon njee—G. Christie 1. Club handicap. 50 yards.—D. Inglis 1, J. Heffernan 2. Open dive.—Miss Eves 1, C. Eves 2. Teams’ race.—Christie Bros.’ team 1, Heffernan's team 2.
