By the world forgot, if not the world forgetting, the ex-Kaiser spent the eleventh anniversary of his defeat at Zandvoort, in Holland, with a friend who is a member of the German nobility, and who visits him frequently. A “Sun” representative, on visiting Doorn, ascertained that the ex-Kaiser is in excellent health. He is an early riser, and keeps fit by gardening and sawing timber. “His right hand is still very strong,” said the Doorn councillor. “Though bearded and his face pale, he is in excellent physical German visitors say he is lonely, but he has many callers.”
Wilhelm walks to the village with his wife, and acknowledges greetings by gravely sweeping off his hat. When away from Doorn he wears a military uniform. He travel* in a motor, attendants following. His wife shops at Doorn ,and is most popular with the villagers. Asked if the ex-Kaiser likes the Dutch, her reply was: “We love only one person in Holland—our Queen.” Wilhelm’s suite refer to him as “His Majesty the Kaiser.”
