BATTERY SETS
STILL A STEADY DEMAND. Despite the advent of the A.C. type of set, local radio dealers state that thero is still a steady demand for parts for battery sets of ouo or two valves (says the "Dominion.”) There are still many beginners who cannot afford to purchase A.C. models and who find pleasure in building their own outfits. The excellence of most of the "B” eliminators on the market has also been a big factor in keeping battery sets from disappearing before the advance of tho wonderful A.C. sets now obtainable, i his, incidentally, necessitates the stocking of battery valves by traders, and these are selling steadily yet. There are many areas in the country where electricity by lines is not available, and tho writer saw two very fine battery sets sold last week to residents who are not served by electric lighting rctiqulation. Many listeners also, are too attached to their old battery sets to part with them and substitute A.C. sets. Reports from up country show that there are many thousands of battery sets in use which will continue to be used for a long while to come.
