SWIMMING

TOUR OF RYAN AND CRIER.

CANTERBURY ALLOTTED AN IMPOSSIBLE DATE.

(Per Press Association.)

Christchurch, Nov. 13.

At a meeting of the Canterbury Swimming Centre notice was received from the New Zealand Council of the itinerary for the tour of the Australian swimmers, N. Ryan and R. Grier. The date allotted to Christchurch was Monday, December 30. It was decided that the council be written to and the date declined on tho grounds that it was an impossible day for a successful carnival and also pointing out that if a date after the holidays could be arranged Canterbury would fall into line.
