MANCHESTER UNITY

LOYAL HASTINGS LODGE. FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Hastings Lodge, No. 6299, M.UO.F. was held at the Oddfellows’ Hall on Thursday last, Bro. J. M Angus, N.G., presiding. An invitation was accepted from the Loyal Napier Lodge to pay an official visit to their meeting on Thursday, 14th inst, and the secretary was instructed to arrange for conveyances to leave the lodge room at 7.15 p.m. Further nominations were received for the various offices for the ensuing term. The election of officers will take place at the annual meeting on the 21st. inst.

Tlie delegates to the Hospital Council reported on the recent meeting of the council held at Napier and as a result an important notice of motion was given which will be dealt with at the next meeting. Further, it was resolved that all members subscribing for hospital benefits be covered as they were under the recent agreement as from 31st August last, and until other arrangements are made. The N.G. reported that he had accompanied the Juvenile Lodge officers on their recent visit to the Abbotsford Lodge, Waipawa, where they gave a demonstration of their ritual. A vote of thanks was passed to the members who lent their cars for the occasion.
