WAIPUKURAU STOCK SALE

FAT CATTLE PRICES LOWER. FAIRLY LARGE ENTRIES. At the weekly Waipukurau stock sale held to-day there was a large attendance of buyers. The yarding of cattle was fairly large and a moderate number of sheep came forward. Prices for fat cattle were somewhat lower than last week, and a number of lines were passed in, but there was a keen demand for young stock. Sheep: 17 fat ewes (shorn) passed at (18/6; 6 fat woolly ewes passed at 23/- (these were the only entries of fat sheep); 91 4 and 5-yr. shorn ewes (s.m.) passed at 19/6; also 62 5 and 6-yr. shorn ewes at 14/6, and 25 4 and 5-yr. shorn ewes (s.m.) at 19/6; 72 5-yr. woolly ewes, with 77 S.D. lambs, sold at 37/6.
