FURTHER SERIES 0 FLECTURES “PROBLEMS OF TO-DAY,” A further series of public lectures organised by the W.E.A. and Victoria University College will be commenced in the Wesley Hall, Hastings, to-night. The lecturer will be Mr. W. E. Bate, LL-M. It is Mr. Bate’s intention to deal with problems of presentday importance and though some of his subjects, such as the national debt, taxation, transport, etc., are of current political interest, an endeavour will be made to deal with them from a scientific and nonpolitical angle. Although the subjects are essentially modern, they will receive historical treatment also, and Mr. Bate's lectures should he both interesting an deducational. His course will comprise six lectures and will be entitled “Problems of To-day.” The subject for Thursday will be “How May We Solve Them?” . The Rev. W. J. Oxbrow will preside. It is anticipated that considerable public interest will lie displayed, in this new series of lectures which will deal with practical problems of national importance.
