Commercial Fertilisers

(Part 4) Potash, Salt, Lime, and Gypsum (BY "SUNDOWNER.”) (Written for the “Tribune” All ifights Reserved.) A review of the so-called chemical or commercial fertilisers would not be complete without a discussion of Potash manures, to which for the sake of convenience I will add in this article a discussion of various substances which while not actually manures, have the property of changing the chemical relationships of certain plant foods, converting them from an unavailable to an available form. The chief of these substances are lime, salt, saltpetre, and gypsum.
