(Special Representative.) WEDDING. ROBERTSON—FAULKNER A quiet and very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Waipukurau, the Rev. Alister AlcLean officiating, when May, fourth daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Faulkner, formerly of Invercargill, was married to Hector, eldest son of the late Mr. Chas. D. Robertson and Mrs. Robertson, of Northumberland street. Waipukurau. The' bride, who was given away by Air. Clive Cassidy, looked charming in a gown of ivory georgette with tight bodice, full, flared skirt with silver lace and uneven hem effect. Orange blossoms, together with the customary veil, completed a dninty toilette." She carried a beautiful shower bouquet in pastel shades with tulle streamers. Miss M. Robertson, sister of tho bridegroom, was prettily dressed in delphinium blue georgette, with large cape collar and scalloped hem, line and blue hat to tone. The bridesmaid’s bouquet was similar to the bride’s. Air. Jourley Robertson, of Dannevirke, was best man.

Airs. Robertson, mother of the bridegroom was becomingly dressed in navy blue satin beautp with fawn vostee and carried a bouquet, of violets and daphne. As the bridal party left the Church wee baby Girvan Cassidy, niece of the bridegroom, presented the bride with a floral horseshoe bouquet. Later in the afternoon the happy pair left for the South on their honeymoon. Mr. and Airs. Robertson will make their home in Tauranga. NEWS AND NOTES A well-attended meeting of the Waipukurau Lodge, Independent Order of Oddfellows, was held on Monday night, Bro. J. Bell, N.G., presiding. Three candidates for membership were initiated while two propositions for admission as members were received, and a similar number of Dominion transfers accepted. A party of Waipukurau Orphans paid a return visit to the Waipawa hapu of Savages last night, providing the programme for the evening. On the 13th. inst. local Orphans are to pay a return visit to the kindred Hastings Club—an annual pilgrimage that is ever popular. The fishing resources of Central Hawke’s Bay have been substantially supplemented this week, and the thanks of the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatisation Society are due to Alessrs. Mackie, Polhill, Cheriton and Buchanan, who so ably assisted the secretary of the Waipukurau Anglers’ Club (Mr. E. Doube) to liberate 50,000 rainbow trout fry in the Tuki Tuki river on Alonday. The first arrived in splendid condition, for which Mr. J. Anderson, curator, Dannevirke, is to be commended. They were well distributed in different parts of the river, some 12 miles up stream. The local Anglers ’ Club wish especially to thank several boys from the District High School for their willing help.
