At the Surgery Conference a discussion developed on the fact that heel fracture was widely prevalent in the United Statse though infrequent in Australia. The surgeons could advance no scientific reason, though some suggested that it might he due to the absence of bootleg whisky in Australia, since this condition resulted most often from falls. Mr James Jenkins, ono of tho New Zealand delegates, presented a technical paper on kidney and bladder surgery.
