SUPREME COURT
SESSIONS AT NAPIER PETITIONS IN DIVORCE GRANTED. JURY DISAGREES IN DAMAGES CASE. The following matters were dealt with by His Honour Mr. Justice McGregor at the Supreme Court, Napier, yesterday:— On the grounds of separation a petition for dissolution of his marriage with Augusta Clare Tesclie-niaKer-Shute (Mr. H. B. Lusk) was made by John Cuthbert TeschemakerShute (Mr. Scannell). Evidence was given that the parties were married in 1907 in Western Australia, coming later to Marlborough and to Mangatahi, near Hastings. In September, 1925, a deed of separation had I een entered into the respondent leaving for Sydney shortly afterwards. A decree nisi to be moved absolute after three months was granted. Ronald Ridge (Mr. Hallett) was granted a decree nisi to be moved absolute in three months in his petition for dissolution of his marriage with Florence Muriel Graham (Mr. H. Holdcrness) on the grounds of separation. The parties were married in 1922, there being two children of the marriage. In April, 1926. a deed of separation was entered into, the petitioner continuing to reside at Hastings while tho respondent went to Wellington.
CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. In the case in which Alfred O’Brien (Mr. H. B Lusk) claimed from George F. Morgan (Mr. E. J. W. Hallett and Mr. C. D. Coinford) and another the sum of £1559 12,10 for damages arising out of a motor collision near Waipawa, the jury failed to agree after four hours’ deliberation and an order for a new trial at the November sessions of the Court was made. The foreman stated that they had considered the questions put to them to answer by His Honour, but were unable to obtain a three-quarters agreement on any one of them.
