£l500 COMPENSATION
EX-SERGEANT’S VINDICATION. (United Press Association—By Cable— Copyright.) ‘Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 5, 12 noon) London March 4. In the House of Commons, replying to Mr. J. H. Hayes (Labour, Edgehill) the Hon. Sir Joynson Hicks announced that cx-Police Sergeant Josiit’g would receive £l5OO compensation for his undeserved dismissal; in addition the records would be amended to show that he had voluntarily resigned without reflection on his character. On behalf of the House he wished Josling success in his present career (cheers). Ex-Sergeant Josling, in an interview, said: “I am immensely satisfied and my vindication brings the greatest joy. I am not so much concerned with the compensation. I shall return to my small Shropshire school and 4 hope the matter will now be forgotten.”
