TOUR OF AUSTRALIAN TEAM HASTINGS ACCEPTS A GAME. A special meetjng of the Hastings and Napier delegates was held in Hastings last evening to consider the proposed visit of the Australian hockey team to New Zealand during the coming season. Mr. W. Lewis occupied the chair and it was decided to send word to the New Zealand Centre accepting a match with the touring team, to be held in Hastings on a Wednesday early in August, Bay Hockey Association. under the auspices of the Hawke's The secretary was also instructed to write to all the Sub-Associations, inviting them to send delegates to the next meeting and to state what guarantees, if any. they can provide towards the expenses of this visit. Mr. Renshaw brought forward a scheme to foster hockey in Hawke's Bay, as well as to foster the game in all the schools round the district. Advices of the scheme will be forwarded to all the clubs and schools, and the next meeting will be held about March.
