SHOPS AT NGARUAWAHIA. HEAVY LOSSES. [Per Press Association.) Hamilton, March 4. Loss estimated at between £5OOO and £6OOO was suffered by fire which destroyed three shops in Ngaruawahia at 2 a.m. to-day. The buildings were owned by Mrs. D. Grant and occupied by R. E. Bell (draper), W. A. Wilton (boot shop) and James Hennessy (tobacconist). The shops were heavily stocked! in view of the approaching legatta season. The insurances are unavailable. Fire nt Rototiina, near Hamilton, at 3 a.m. destroyed the five-roomed farm house of Alorton Tuck. The insurances are: On the buildings £5OO in the New Zealand office, and cn the furniture £l5O in the Eagle and Star office.
