The trainer is hopeful that the horse will throw off the trouble. Crowdel goes to Sydney this week. [Per Press Association.] Invercargill, March 4. A young man nanied Gordon Shaw, employed by an Invercargill trainer. S. Tood, was the victim of a painful accident to-day while exercising a pacer in fact work on the Southland Racing Club’s clay tracks. His horse fell and Shaw landed on his head, sustaining a compound fracture of the nose and other facial injuries. He was removed to the Southland Hospital.
