NEAL & CLOSE CUP B AND C GRADES DECIDED. H.B. AND WAIPUKURAU CLUBS. The final matches in the B and C grades of the Neal and Close Cup competition were decided at Waipukurau on Saturday between the Waipukurau and Hawke’s Bay Clubs. In the B grade Waipukurau scored a win, while Hawke’s Bay retaliated in the C grade, winning handsomely. The detailed scores are as follow, Waipukurau names being mentioned first:— B GRADE. Men's Singles.—W. Gosnell beat H. Jordan, 9—5; S. M. Wilson lost to E. D. Goldsmith, 7—9; J. D. Ormond junr., beat J. Vautier, 9—B; I. W. N. Mackie beat Dr. Harvey, 9—2. Ladies’ Singles—Miss Hartley beat Miss V. Clark. 9—7; Miss Hunter lost to Mrs Mawson, o—9; Mrs Harker lost to Miss Whittington, 2 —9; Miss Schroder lost to Miss Freedman, 5—9.
