□EVONPORT MEETING. WORLD’S RECORDS ESTABLISHED. Auckland, March 3. At the motor cycle races at Devonport, Percy Coleman, on a 7 h.p. Harley-Davidson, covered the flying mile in 44 4-sseconds—a world’s record. C. Goodwin, on a 2] h.p. Royal Enfield, established a world’s record •for middle-weight machines by covering the flying mile in 47 3-sseconds. R. Ranby, on a 3} h.p. Indian, covered the flying mile in 46 4-5 seconds, —a New Zealand record. ’ A race of throe miles between an aeroplane piloted by Lieutenant Inn Keith and n motor-cycle ridden by Coleman proved disappointing. Coleman quick!® ran awnv from the aeroplane, which had difficulty in flying low and trimming the corners with safety.
