BOWLING.
NAPIER AT PUKEORA. A bowling team from the Napier Club spent, a most enjoyable day at Pukeora, the greens being in excellent order. During the afternoon tea adjournment Dr. McLean, on behalf of the inmates expressed appreciation of the Napier bowlers’ visit. He also stated that the handsome trophies donated by Mr. J. P. Smith, of the Port Ahuriri Club, were much appreciated by the bowlers and had created a good deal of enthusiasm amongst members. The Sanatorium players were also indebted to Mr. Smith for the assistance he had given in building up the green. Mr. Schmoll, in replying, stated a visit to the Sanatorium and the pleasure associated with a game of bowls there made the outing one of the most enjoyable of the year. He also congratulated the inmates on the excellent condition of the green which had proved remarkably good. They appreciated the hospitality showered upon them that afternoon, particularly the luncheon.
