OTAMAURI SPORTS

A GREAT SUCCESS. The sports meeting at Otamauri on Saturday drew a large crowd, who saw manv exciting foot races and horse competitions. The latter have always been a.feature of this gathering and Saturday was no exception. The most exciting event of the day was the equestrian tug-of-war between Crownthorpe and Whana Whana, the former winning. The Nelson Memorial Cup for athletic events was won by S. Woon, of Havelock North. The club expresses its acknowledgement of the following gifts Silver medal, Messrs. L. J. Harvey, Hastings ; silver cup, Mrs. R. Armstrong, Hastings; trophies, Mr. L.
