WEDDING

SHEFFORD—O'DONNELL. The Sacred Heart Church, Hastings, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday afternoon, whew the Rev. Father Dignan joined in holy wedlock Mis Margaret O’Donnell, daughter of Mr and Mrs Hugh O’Donnell. of Hastings, and Mr John Shefford, of the South Island. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty frock of ivory georgette, with close-fitting veiled in silver lace and ornamented with a spray of orange blossoms, which were repeated in the coronet over the beautiful embroidered veil. Lovely carnations and maidenhair fern formed the bouquet, and silver shoes and stockings were worn. The chief bridesmaid Miss Angela O’Donnell, was prettily frocked in beige rose crepe-de-chine. the tight bodice and flared skirt having cream pipings. A dainty silvery hat was worn, and she carried a bouquet in pink tones. The other bridesmaid. Miss Maggie McGee, was similarly dressed in shades of blue, with a pietty cream hat with transparent brim. Her shoes were of silver, and she carried a pretty bouquet. The bridegroom gave each of the bridesmaids a signet, ring. Mr John O'Donnell, the bride’s brother, carried out the duties of best man, assisted by Mr Thomas Samson as groomsman.

Afterwards a reception was neid at the home of the bride’s parents, Mrs O’Donnell wearing a black and white ensemble to receive the "nests A beautiful set of carvers, presented to the bridegroom by his fellow employees at the gasworks, was among the many handsome gifts.
