AFTERNOON TEA

A very enjoyable afternoon tea was given by Mrs. Spencer Freeman, at her mother’s home—Mrs. Miller’s—in Tomoana road on Thursday, for Mrs. W. Baurnschmidt, junr. The drawing-room was decorated very beautifully with masses of vivid cannas in brass jars, and miniature sunflowers, and African marigolds. Mrs. Freeman wore a very sweet floral ninon frock in rose and black over apple green. Mrs. Bauernschmidt looked very unusual in a charming mauve georgette frock, with mauve shoes to match it, and a picture hat. Miss Meller wore a very charming chenille embossed frock in gold and red. over black crepe-de-chine. During the afternoon Mrs. Baiiorn. schmidt entertained everyone with a most delightful little talk on “Life at the Movies.” her clear enunciation and clever descriptions pleasing nil who were present. The guests were: Mrs. Pratt, Mrs C. Spinney, All's. F. Douglas, .Mrs. McCaw. Mrs. de Lisle. Mrs. T.clicvre, Mrs. Tosswill. Mrs. Landels. Mrs. Candy, Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Harris. Mrs. (Dr.) Johnson.
