Tha air was calm, and, rising to the »ky, A fleecy cloud stood like a lofty pine Against the blue, and stayed in unvexed peace Above the unceasing chariot's hoqting lines , So a wise soul, aniid the strife of earth, • Might make itself a silence of its. own. And count the oush and chatter nothing worth.
In the southwest the clouds lay piled and still Glorious with the gold as for a > monarch's throne.
