OAKLEY BREAKS A RECORD. Masterton, Jan. 22. Competing at the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club’s annual meeting to-day Tom Oakley, the Masterton crack, broke his own New Zealand record for three miles by fourteen seconds, registering the wonderful time of seven minutes 54 3-ssecs. M. Gane (Wellington) and Pearce (Christchurch) were completely outclassed.
