BIG HANDICAP TO AUTHOR JINKS.
Dunedin, Dec. 1. The second day of Forbury Park trots was opened in showery weather, which cleared later. There was a large attendance and the racing was interesting despite the conditions. The tote handled £28,453 10/- for the day, compared with £31,492 10/- on the second day last year, making the total for the meeting £47,837, compared with £52,510 10/-. Late results :—
Brighton Handicap, 2 miles.—s Nelson Ata (Butterfield )1, 2 Commander Bingen 2, 3 All Peters and 8 Avalanche (dead-heat) 3. Also ran: 6 Nelson s Prince, 4 Repute, 1 Trampcrisp, 7 Randolph. Won by a short half length. An inquiry regarding the alleged inconsistency of the winner was without result. Time, 5.8 2-5.
Forbury Handicap, 2 miles 6 Author Jinks (Wallis) 1, 1 Silk Thread 2, 4 Bonny Logan 3. Also ran: 7 Jean McElwyn, 3 Dalmeny, 2 Harold Thorpe, 8 Vesuvius, 5 Dalnahine. Won by a length and a-half Time, 4.59 2-5.
Tainui Handicap, 2 miles 1 Roi L’Or (D. Withers) 1,2 Firno 2, 3 Warepa 3. Also ran: 5 Sandown, 4 Four Bells, 6 Yoicks, 7 Dillon Gold. Won by two lengths. Time, &.12 2-5. Victoria Handicap, 2 miles 2 Proud Ata (A. Butterfield) 1, 3 Le Todd 2, 1 Mangoutu 3. Also ran: 4 Len Wood 5 Herbilwyn Won by twelve lengths. Time, 5.16 2-5. Recovery Handicap, 2 miles.—6 Oma (M. Holmesl 1,2 Dundas Boy 2, 5 Desert Star 3. Also ran: 8 Locanda Dillon, 3 Dismurate, 4 Jolly Chimes, 7 Harold Burwood, 1 Fight Ever. Won by six lengths. Time, 2.27 2-5.
