PLUMP GIRLS NEEDED
FASHION’S NEW DECREE. LESS LEMON AND MORE CHOCOLATE. (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.) lUuited Service.) (Received 14. 10.5 a.m.) London, Sept. 13. Fat and “plumping" exercises are becoming the rage, according to fashion dictators, and restaurant proprietors, who deny insinuations that it is a case merely of the wish being father to the thought. Restauranteurs assert that they already notice that girls no longer ask for slim-making black coffee and lemon squashes in the forenoon, hut demand sundaes, cream, chocolate Slid pastries. Everybody knows that the fashion experts started the ball rolling when they decreed for ampler curves, but food experts point out that hipless, chestless figures inside the new fashions can only produce “frights.” Without plumpness the new frocks resemble washings hung out on a clothes-line. It is stated that doctors altruistically support the new fashions on the ground that self-starvation in the interests of boyish figures has been undermining the health of the rising generation.
