PAKI PAKI.

(Own Correspondent). A pupil of the local school, Teohaki Hurikiiio (Willie Cooper), passed away at the Waipukurau Hospital on Saturday last. The little lad, who was nine years of age, had been ailing for some time, and the sympathy of the whole district will be extended to his parents in their sad bereavement. The dangerous corner at the school gates is now guarded by notice posts lor motorists. TJiis will afford much relief to the parents of children attending the school. Another of the popular socials is to be held in the School on Friday next. Entertainment will take the form of a euchre tournament when keen competition is expected, as several players are in a good position for the aggregate prizes. There will also be a table tennis tournament. This feature proved very popular at the last social and quite a number of enthusiasts are expected to participate on this occasion. Supper and dancing will follow. A dance in aid of the Houngarca funds is being organised by Mrs. TV. Puharn and will be held in the hall on Friday. September 14. The Moteo Orchestra has been engaged and a good evening is promised to all who attend.
