H.B. LADIES’ TOURNEY. % ..—-r—• HIGH STANDARD OF PLAY. Trmaru, Sept. 4. The ladies’ championship hockey tournament was continued to-day in fine weather. The grounds showed signs of the heavy use to which they have been subjected to since the commencement of the tournament. Great interest was taken in the day's programme. as the unbeaten teams in each section met. By defeating Otago A 3 to nil. Southern practically were assured of victory in section 1. Canterbury defeated Ruahino (holders of the championship) 3 to nil. and it is unlikely they will bo beaten for top place in section 2. Both these matches reached a very high standard. Results

Section 1: Eastern B v. Bush 1. Wellington 11 v. South Canterbury B I. Southland .3 v. Otago A 0. Section 2: Rotorua 1 v. North Otaro 0, South Canterbury A 1 v. Otago B 1, Canterbury 3 v. Ruahino 0.
