ESKIMO DOGS EN ROUTE. TREADMILL TRAINING FOR PHYSICAL FITNESS. [United Press Association—By Cable— Copyright! [United Service.] (Received 5. 9.5 a.in.) Quebec, Sept. 4. Eighty Eskimo husky dogs have been assembled and sent through Ungava and Northern Quebec to be shipped to the United States naval supply base at Hampton Roads en route for New Zealand for Commander Byrd’s expedition. David Buckingham, Byrd’s veterinarian. has invented a treadmill for use aboard the ship where the dogs will exercise regularly to develop muscle and dispose of fat.
