Goods valued at £lOO, alleged to be uncustomed and to have come from the Federal Line steamer Northumberland, were discovered by the Bluff police yesterday afternoon, as the result of a raid on a house occupied by Charles Jackson. The goods seized comprised 21 full bottles of whisky and 32 half bottles, a roll of tweed cloth valued at £4O, anil four or five rolls of cotton material. Jackson later appeared before a Justice of the Peace, when he was remanded on the application of the nolice, till August 14th. Bail was allowed, in accused’s own recognisance of £lO.
