WANGANUI CHAMPIONSHIPS. Wanganui, August 6. The Wanganui boxing championships were decided to-night as fol-low:—Paper-weight J. Anderson; fly-weight,. T. Holly ; bantam, S. Gray; leather, H. Morton; light, A. Karten; wjj'ter; welter, J. Lockett; middle, H. Scown (patea); heavy, H. Adams (Marton) i HAWKE'S BAY ASSOCIATION. REPRESENTATIVES FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS. A meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Boxing Association was held last evening, Mr J. D. Donovan in the chair. It was decided to send the following team to Auckland to take part in the championships:— Bantams; L, Knuckey, P. Hutchin son (Hastings). Feather-weights; L. Drieburg (Napier). Light-weights: E. Probert (Hastings). Welter; J. Ferguson (Hastings). Middle-weight: W. Stevens (Hastings). Mr J. Stickland wil] accompany tinteam as manager. The thanks of the association were accorded to Sergeant-Major O'Leary for his valuable service in connection with the recent tournament, and the chairman, on behalf of the association, asked him to accept a case of pines,, as a slight acknowledgment ol of the active assistance he had given to tho sport. .Sergeant-Major O’Leary briefly replied, saying that it had been a great pleasure to him to help the sport. Special votes of thanks were passed to the following gentlemen for donating trophies for the winners of the championship events:—Messrs D. Newbigin, S. J. McKee. S. 0. Garland, G; C. Lowe, A. M. Brodie, and D. H. McLeod. It was resolved to hold anothei tournament in September, and an effort is to be made to get teams f 'roni Palmerston North and Wellington I meet the Hawke's Bay chain I 'ons.
