ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

I Per Pres* Association.] Yesterday morning the dead body of a young man, beside a damage*! motor-cycle and side-chair, was found at the bottom of a bank at a cutting on the Kaikoura road five miles front Waiau. Deceased was apparently from 20 to 24 years of age. A motor cyclist's license, found in a pocket, bore the name of Herbert Clara, labourer, care of Murray, Kaikoura. Marks on the road seemed to indicate that the man had been going up the cutting, and the cycle was in second gear when found, so that it is difficult to account for the accident. It is believed the accident occurred on Wednesday. Mrs Catherine Edmiston, wife of J. D. Edmiston, of Dunsandel, the second victim of the level crossing collision at Dunsandel on Wednesday, succumbed at hospital, aged 43. Miss Muriel Laishley is improving.
