The report of Nurse Signal! to the monthly meeting of the Blanket Society was as follows:—Visits to rooms: Waipukurau, adults 134, babies 94. children 21. total 249; Takapau, adults 25, babies 22, children 7, total 54; Norsewood, adults 5, babies 4, children 2, total 11. Visitsto homes: Waipukurau 82, Takapau 10, Norsewood 9. New cases: Watpukurau 7, Takapau 2, Norsewood 0. (Of these, naturally fed 6, naturally and artificially 3, normal babies 5, insufficient feeding 2, indigestion 2.) (letters received 10, letters answered 6. Emulsion sales: 341 b. Karilac sales: 1231 b. Cases on list: Waipuknrau 150, Takapau 45, Norsewood 10.
At Wednesday’s .meeting of the Orphans’ Club three new members were elected. This brings the Club's membership now to a total of 102. At the meeting of the Orphans’ Club on Wednesday night the opportunity was taken by Chief Orphan Hall to say a few words, of farewell to Orphan Haseltine, who is leaving for his home at Opunake. after a stay of three months in Waipukurau. Orphan Haseltine, he said, was an old member of the club, and it had given the Orphans a great deal of pleasure to welcome him back. He was sorry that Orphan Haseltine was not going to be here for the remainder of tho season, but he extended to him the best wishes of the club for his future health and good fortune.
Mr J. Butler, solicitor, of Taihape, who has been visiting Waipukurau, returned tn Taihape yesterday. Mr J. H. Hindman is at present confined tn his bed, suffering from an attack of influenza. The funeral of the late Mrs Cyril Riddell took place at Waipukurau on Thursday afternoon. A short service was held at St. Andrew’s Church prior to the interment. Tho service both at the church and the graveside was conducted by the Rev. A. C. McLean. There was a very representative attendance of mourners, showing the very high esteem in which the deceased had been field in the community. ral bodies with which the deceased lady bad been associated. A match was played in Waipukurau on Wednesday afternoon between the Waipukurau and Waipawa District High Schools, the contest resulting in a win for tho visitors by 31 points to nil.
