KARAMU LODGE NO. 47.

The usual meeting of the above lodge was held in the Lancaster Hall on the 12th inst., Bro. H. K. Heaton, N.G.. presiding. The Grand Master for N.Z.. Bro. Simmons, of Christchurch, paid his official visit to this district on July 10, iho combined meeting being held in Napier, where he was enthusiastically received by the members of Stai of Napier, Karamu and Kahuranaki Rebekah Lodges. The Grand Master gave an interesting and instructive address outlining the work and progress of the Order in New Zealand. The delegate on the Hospital Council notified having attended a meeting of that body held in Napier when a «« agreement with the Hospital Board was reached and approved Bro Gwyn, on transfer from Oweka Lodge, was introduced and welcomed by members. One candidate was proposed for membership and two initiated into the Order.
