THE PICTURE HOUSES

COSY DE LUXE. A fine double bill awaits patrons at the Cosy Theatre where Reginald Denny appears in “Out All Night” and Madge Bellamy in “Colleen.” In the latter picture, F. F. McDonald, as an impecunious Irish lord, pawns his horse to get the entrance fee to run her in the international sweepstakes. Sammy accepts the horse as a pledge, and his father makes him take care of the animal. In order to do this properly, a friend, played by Sam Cohen, goes and gets a pair of woolly chaps, a few revolvers and a sombrero—and, incidentally, almost frightens the horse into fits with his get-up. “Colleen” is a cleverly worked nut racing story with a colourful Irish background, with Madge Bellamy in the stellar role. The cast includes Ted McNamara. Charles Morton, Tom Maquire and others. Denny’s picture is a rollicking farce of the type in which he has made his name.
